Frederick Oakeley, 1802-80, an early Tractarian who was in charge of Margaret Chapel, London (on the site of the later All Saints Margaret Street), converted three weeks after Newman and for most of his Roman Catholic life was a canon of Westminster. This copy has a bookplate marking its presentation to the Athenaeum by the author on 16 December 1864 (though publication date given as 1865).
